Casement Windows v Sash Windows
Casement windows have advantages over sash windows because they’re mounted differently. Being side-mounted and opening horizontally, casement windows allow more of the window area to be opened so more air to can circulate in your room.
Casement windows are not perfect for everybody or every home and hence why we always consider the best window installation options for your needs.
Once you’ve decided if casement windows are the most suitable option for your replacement windows, we can then choose from 3 main types :
Single frame casement windows, which are the most common to be installed. As their name suggests they have a single frame inside which are panels of glass, separated by wooden strips, opening in or out, depending on how we mount them.
Double casement windows, also called French casement windows are two vertical windows hinged on the sides that swing out horizontally meeting in the middle.
Push-out casement windows are similar in nature to French casement windows available in both single and double styles and are operated by a handle and a gentle push, instead of a crank.
